The In2Care Mosquito Station operates as more than a simple trap—it acts as a strategic mosquito control system. While it effectively eliminates all mosquito larvae within the station, its unique design allows adult mosquitoes to exit after contact. These mosquitoes unknowingly become carriers of the station’s biocides, dispersing them to additional breeding areas and disrupting future mosquito populations.

This makes the In2Care device a dissemination station rather than a traditional trap. Female mosquitoes are attracted to the water inside, where they land on a treated gauze to lay their eggs. During this process, they come into contact with a combination of larvicide and a biological fungus. Once they leave, they continue to spread the larvicide to other stagnant water sources while laying more eggs.

The In2Care Mosquito Station poses minimal risk to non-target insects like butterflies and honeybees. The stations are placed in shaded, low-traffic areas where the likelihood of attracting other insect species is very low. What makes this system especially safe for the environment is its targeted mode of action: mosquitoes themselves carry the larvicide to breeding sites, limiting unnecessary spread of active ingredients.

The biocides in the In2Mix® formula have been shown to have low acute toxicity and minimal impact on beneficial or non-target species. Unlike traditional pesticide spraying or fogging, which can expose a wide range of organisms to chemicals, the In2Care solution is confined within the mosquito station—greatly reducing the potential for environmental exposure.

When used according to label instructions, the In2Care Mosquito Station is not expected to harm fish, including those in koi ponds. The amount of product that mosquitoes can carry and transfer is too small to pose a risk to aquatic life. However, to ensure full safety, the stations should not be placed directly beside ponds or in areas with standing surface water, as this prevents any concentrated product from accidentally entering aquatic environments.

Rain does not diminish the effectiveness of the In2Care Mosquito Station. The larvicide used is extremely potent, remaining active even at concentrations as low as 10 parts per billion. Even if rainfall dilutes the water inside the station, the larvicide still works effectively. In fact, studies show it continues to kill mosquito larvae at concentrations up to 2,000 times lower than the original dosage present when the station is first set up.

The In2Care Mosquito Station is not available as a retail product, as profession service and installation is needed.

To keep the In2Care Mosquito Stations operating at peak performance, Beyond the Curb recommends servicing them every 4 weeks. During each service visit, our team will:

• Remove the used gauze strip and any dirty water remaining in the station
• Refill the container with clean water
• Install a fresh biocide-treated gauze sachet to continue attracting and contaminating mosquitoes
